  • IPod for Dummies (me and DH)

DH runs on the treadmill and on the street, and has had generic MP3 players. The latest one, a gift, frustrates him because he has to click on a button twice to advance songs.
Because we are VERY technically challenged, he would like a simple player that would let him easily go from song to song without clicking through each one. I guess that means a screen with a play list that can be touched to play each song? He doesn't need video, apps, or anything fancy. He is just looking for ease in accessing different songs. I don't want to pay for stuff he will never use.
    Any suggestions?

    Jacki,
I used to have a generic mp3 player and what I didn't like about it was that you couldn't scramble the songs. Had to listen to each album in total before listening to the next.

I bought a reconditioned ipod, I had already uploaded my cds to the apple store and downloaded them to my ipod. I am no techie but the instructions were easy to follow.

On the menu I cick on shuffle songs and they play randomly. If I want to skip one, I just press the right arrow and it immediately goes to the next song.

    Hope this helps.

I have lots of playlists on my IPOd and play them according to my mood and hit shuffle first. i hardly ever advance to the next song unless i just play the entire music library.

I don't even bother with playlists for my iPod, I just hit Shuffle. If I'm not in the mood for a song that comes up, I just skip it as Kay describes.
