Yeah, I wish I had time to spend a night at the W before this sale was over. We've got 2 more months to return our new mattress, and have definitely decided we need something fluffier. Still trying to hunt down the Manhattan Club's penthouse bed from a retailer....

Do they come with or with out Bed bugs?

BTW I am joking but FYI I have known 3 people that bought new beds that came with those little criters at no extra charge. One of those beds cost them over $2000 since it was purchased at a high end retailer.

Have you thought of just buying a four inch latex topper? They can be either really cushy or really firm depending on the ILD you choose, and then you can replace them when needed instead of the mattress. (I think the toppers last about five years.) I know that some places (including Norwalk Mattress Company) will make you up a fancy one all quilted that looks like a mini-mattress, but you can buy the plain latex very cheaply just to see if you like the feel before you invest in that.

I will post a comparison tomorrow as yesterday I slept on the W Pillow top mattress and tonight I am sleeping on the Manhattan Club Penthouse bed.

            Stay tuned

Good Morning - wonderful nights' sleep on the MC PH bed.

I have to honestly say that this is VERY similar to/the same as the "W" Pillow top mattress.
It is firm with that nice layer of "cushy-ness".

The other thing to remember is that the linens you use make a major difference - 300-400 thread count is a LOT nicer to sleep on then 200. I went to the Williams-Sonoma Home outlet and purchased a REALLY nice duvet.

                  Glad to hear Pat!

Avery buy the bed. You won't regret it. It is not at all mushy but as Pat says firm with a lovely cushiony support. That and the Wyndham pillows have me sleeping like an angel each night.

Overstock and Bill Me Later love me .....much higher than 600 really doesn't make much of a diff and the sheets don't wear/last as well.

I purchased the 4 inch 'combo' topper from Overstock.com - it has 'egg crate' on the bottom and 2+ inches of foam.
I have it on two twin beds in an extra bedroom and it is very nice but too soft for me.

This bed thing is really hit and miss, isn't it?

Egg crate (which is polyurethane foam, and I imagine the plain foam on your topper as well is also polyurethane) is very different from latex foam, which is this rubbery, dense stuff. I used to have egg crates which were okay, but the latex has a totally different feel. Also, good latex comes in various ILD "firmness" measures. Glitter would probably have to get one from a real mattress company or at least a latex company rather than Overstock. I did once find a latex topper from Overstock for another bed and found it to be way softer than the one I got from the mattress company...but it could have just been a much lower ILD (they didn't say and I took a chance).

It's nice when you can go to a store and try them out too! (Although, sometimes you like something in the store and not at home also...it's very tricky, isn't it!)

I put a foam topper on my other bed after the pillowtop lost some of its pillowness. But this mattress is new and still returnable, so I'm inclined to start fresh with something that's better from the start.

It is indeed hit or miss, though - the W bed sounds great, but it's such an individual thing. TheMattressExpert recommended a slightly higher line of Sealy Posturepedic than the one at TMC - said the personal use ones are generally slightly higher grade but who knows - probably just because the Encore 720 is unavailable to the retail consumer.
