  • Ugh....Huge branches falling on my property, water leaking through window....

It's a nightmare this morning in my house! I have a massive leak in living room window, and major branches are falling everywhere. You can barely get out of my driveway because a huge pine tree branch is blocking passage.

The roads in my development are a sheet of ice. DH just called to tell me that cars are skidding everywhere. Not to leave the house.

When is it going to end?

    UGH!

The ice-ing was the part I was worried about most. School called at 5:30AM to advise we are using our LAST snowday. Going forward I believe they chip away at Easter break.

We are on warning for weather until 6PM up here.

My heat is acting up again...

My SD has a 2 hour delay today. Although, I have a feeling that a lot of kids wont be showing up.

I'm really surprised that I still have electricity, and am hoping that I don't loose it. I can see the tree branches stretched out over the wires.

I really hope that you don't loose your heat! OMG, how much more of this do we need to put up with?

        I need a sun fix!

We have been lucky. Only 6 inches, high winds and 10 below.

Not far away they had 1-2 inches of ice, followed by 20 inches of snow, plus the wind and cold. Interstates shut down.

We have the heat pump on emergency mode (electric strips) plus four space heaters.

Our dock is leaning toward the lake, the ends of the lakeside fingers underwater.

The snow is very heavy and I only got half the driveway cleared yesterday.

Al Roker says more ice coming for the NE.

They are lying to save their little rodent hides. If they said 6 more weeks of winter there would be riots.

Everything delayed around here, HS and local community college.
But the good news is, it's 37 degrees and 42 a little further south of me , maybe 12 miles.

Can't finish giving midterms b/c of the weather delays. They've postponed them and now are down to scheduling just one for today.

Ange - good luck with power. Not sure where you are, but my friend in Amityville just lost his.
Sorry to read about the window.

At this point, if we ONLY had 6 more weeks of winter, I would be happy.

Ugh, Angela! So sorry. Everything here is covered with ice, and kids are off from school--this is our third, and they only plan for two, so this will be coming out of April break.

Angela - UGH. I hope you can get it repaired quickly. I hear creaking from trees and am very nervous. Already have two dents in my car from falling branches in "regular" fall winds. I guess I should have bit the pruning bullet sooner.

Our schools called all the phones at 5:15 about a 2 hour delay. I got up and shut DS' alarm off. He woke up when I went in, so I told him there was a two hour delay. Back to bed. He must have been sleep talking, because his other alarms went off at the usual time and he went outside to wait for the bus. He texted his friend, who told him there was a one hour delay, so he came back in. When the bus didn't come an hour later, he woke me at 8:49, telling me there was a two hour delay

So far, LIRR running on a weekend schedule. Hopefully it will get better out there, rather than worse. Roads look slushy rather than icy, but my car is covered in ice.

My dog has been able to climb up on the snow out the back for the past few days, but this morning it was harder than ever for her to get her footing. So sad to watch her scramble around just trying to do her business.

Don't believe a word of it. In fact, I'm surprised they didn't freeze or get smothered in their holes the last few weeks. If they did manage to get out, the cold has surely gotten to their brains. Not to mention that with all this snow, you'd have to be blind not to see a shadow.
