  • Internet purchase or Club Stores - eye glasses, questions

Has anyone purchase prescription eye glasses on the internet? Some really great prices, but not sure about he quality and how to do the measurements, etc.

    Hi
Funny thing I just ordered a pair online. Someone at work told me about this. Zenni Optical. I just bought a new pair of glasses at the local eye glass store and it cost me five hundred dollars. So for a backup/clipon sunglasses I thought Zenni would be good. Placed the order. Faxed the prescription. Glasses came, put them on and I can not see. I called Zenni they said to return them and they will check to see what happened.

So I too am curious if anyone has ordered online and how they made out....

I've been tempted---there's one out there that sells RX glasses for $9.99.

I've purchased from Zenni. Mostly for presb sunglasses-I just wanted distance and no bifocal. I see fine from them. They are so inexpensive that I didn't care if it didn't work out...mostly it has. Now I can have several pairs instead of the same ole same ole.

The only regular eyeglasses I purchased were for night driving...and then I didn't care what they looked like per se because I only use them at night in the car..again-I wanted the distance without the bifocal.

Just pay close attention to the size of the frame..I received one pair that was really tight..my fault-they all LOOK good online..but watch the numbers. If you already have a pair that you like-look at the frame for the sizing numbers. Also, make sure you know your pupil distance.

Even though I have refused to budge from age 27 for several decades now, my eyes, unfortunately, have not. Now I find myself forced to wear reading glasses while shaving.

Not online, but last few times purchased from Costco at a major savings from what we'd previously paid at Lenscrafters and Pearl.

Has anyone purchased progressive lens at Sams Club? If so, what did you think of them?

DH and I both get our glasses thru Costco - excellent savings

I always confuse these terms but DH has no-line bifocals plus they change from clear to sunglasses.
Mine are no-line bifocals - my sunglasses are Fendi and Ralph Lauren, eye glasses are Coach - all from Costco.

My glasses are great and I got them at Sam's about a year ago.

We always get our from Costco. I thought they were getting a lot more expensive and that other stores couldn't possibly be that much more...and then I went into a mall store and found out that most frames there started at about $180 and went up from there, ouch!

My DH just bought new progressives with antiglare from Costco for about $220 altogether.

That's a great price! Mine are progressives with anti-glare and always cost at least $400.
