  • My sister lives in Japan

She is married to a naval officer and they are stationed there. Here is an article about their experience with the earthquake/tsunami.

I am so glad that your sister's story has a happy ending. This must have been terrifying for all of you.

So happy that you're sister and her family are all fine.

What a tragedy for the others that were not so lucky!

You must all feel very blessed!

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

                We have family in Japan

We have a son, daughter in-law, and 2 grandkids that live in Japan. They have lived there for many years and live in Nagoya, Japan. We got an e-mail yesterday from our son and they are all OK. Our daughter in-law's parents live right in the area in the northeast that was the worst hit. Their home is on a hill so they were spared the damage but they said the whole city where they live has been completely destroyed and there are dead bodies floating all over. They also have no water nor electricity. They are 79 yrs. old and are suffering from the traumatic effect. Our son is trying to reach them but he said all the infrastructure has been destroyed.

He is going to call me in a couple days when things settle down a bit.

I'm glad your loved ones are ok amidst this tragedy. It sounds like things are still unfolding and it will be some time before all the damage is assessed and further risk contained. I can't imagine the emotional impact on the people in the area.

Wow, I am glad that both your families are safe. I guess there are some advantages to living on a hill!
