I, too, am sorry for you.
There are things we can't schedule.
We had a similar situation with my Dad, getting the call while we were in Estes Park. It, too, was not unexpected, but . . .RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

Originally posted by vintnerI was informed Monday evening (while on vacation in Orlando at Disney-the happiest place on earth) that my mother died. We had been expecting this for a while and at every vacation felt it would happen, but this time it did.
We will get back home about midnight Saturday night, the funeral is Monday morning. Makes enjoying vacation a little tougher when having to deal with a funeral home long distance.
We know how you feel. We were in Vegas several years back when we got the call the Shelley's mother was in the hospital and was in very bad shape (not expected to live). It was quite the ordeal to go through while on vacation. Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/

Please accept my condolences and sympathies.
I had a similar experience when my Mom died a couple of years ago. In my case I got the news three days before we were scheduled to leave for Hawaii for 2-1/2 weeks. So I quickly rearranged arrangements to make a quick trip to Minnesota.
It was also not at all unexpected. We had already been talking about how to handle things if she died while we were in Hawaii.

No matter how much you plan for it and how prepared you are for it, it's still a loss. The juxtaposition with a vacation is difficult.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”
“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”
“You shouldn't wear that body.”

Thank you all for your well wishes. She has not been well for so long, it is good for her that it is finally over.
My brother is handling most of the arrangements, so most of the load is not on my shoulders. Still I am trying to find and notify people, people I haven't seen in years.
We will be back home about midnight Saturday, then leave Sunday for my home town. Funeral on Monday morning and back home again Monday night and pick up Steffi.Don
