Violet and Bobby, a pair of red tailed hawks, have made a nest 12 stories above the ground, outside the window of the President of NYU.

The NYTimes has a hawk cam trained on the nest --and the chicks are due to hatch any day.

Yesterday I saw one bring the other a live mouse, and have also seen them with all sorts of stuff in their nest - fast food wrappers and more, none of which seemed to have harmed them.

Today they have a piece of newspaper, which a science center says means the chicks will be hatching soon.

Does that mean that the chicks will be able to read a newspaper when they are born?

Violet had been poking at the newspaper, a lot..
I was thinking she may be looking for coupons.

Someone posted from a science center when they saw the newspaper, saying this means the chicks are coming sooooon.

Maybe Easter chicks?
