    Just curious,
how many of you are on Facebook?

  • #2
I am, but just check it everyday. I seldom post anything. I just do not like to share as much information as most of my friends. I am a member of the TS4M facebook group, but most of us seldom make comments.

    I like TS4m & TUG better.

I just set up an account recently. I only use it for a private group with our family... and it has been great! We've had a lot of fun with the group, and the best part of it - is that it can be set up as private. So, my kids don't have to worry about dad embarassing them on their public wall or something... The group thing has been great!

I'm on facebook, but I read "the news" much more than I provide any. I am never specific about going anywhere until after I've been there, unlike some of my friends. My life's not an open book. I don't "check in" to tell folks where I am. I don't swear or do anything I wouldn't do IRL (in real life).

I do like to play a few of the games, although I don't have a farm or a city. I mainly do matching types of mindless games.

I've found facebook a good way to keep up with grandchildren, since they'll post in a minute, but not pick up the phone. Its also allowed me to renew acquaintance with people I'd lost touch with.

I am on it and used to go on daily. I found it a bit of a pain with all those dam game help requests which I do not play. Plus I have more friends that I have no idea who they are that keep requesting me cause of all the Cigar buddies I have. So I now find myself now hardly going on. I do log in once every day or two but nothing like when I first joined. In the beginning I was on 3-5 times a day.

I love facebook for keeping in touch with my daughter, daughter-in-law, god-daughter, etc. That generat!ion will post, and reply, and send little funnies (and ignore the phone and email).

Ban all the games (Apps and Websites).

Go in "Account" and then "Privacy Settings". At the bottom you see "Apps and Websites". Click on "Edit your Settings" and make your decision there. You can turn them all off in one go, if you like. That took care of all the requests that I used to get.

I like Facebook mainly for the pictures that are posted by my forum friends. Even that keeps you busy plus some other groups that have nothing to do with timesharing.

What I don't like about Facebook is that they are constantly changing everything so you need to stay on top of it just like with the exchange companies or the big timeshare developers too.

I also prefer the timeshare forums as pittle posted earlier.

I joined only to get AA miles, of which I got 200. I go on about once a month and may drop out. I don't enjoy it at all. What bothers me is they went thru my addressbook on Comcast for suggestions for friends. I think have 4 friends there. Not worth it to me.

I'm on facebook because friends asked me join them in Farmville, and I get to see pix of new kids in the family. I play a couple of other games, but like most do NOT post anything personal. If I want to talk to someone...I call or email.

I'm on Facebook, but like others, I rarely post; I just check to see what others have posted--and I'm amazed at some of the stuff they choose to post.
