Need gifted, amazing math tutor/teacher near Fairfield County, CT

I've finally decided to try the amazing powers of TS4ms to help with this issue:

Seeking a very patient math teacher who can work with a kid with very significant dyscalcula on not only SATs, but on "the basics" of much math that was missed due to illness. Must be willing to come to the student's house (Weston). Looking for twice per week all summer and after the SATs are done, to continue on math fluency in general. The student is very teachable, very sweet, and works extremely hard.

We have found a wonderful person in Westchester County, but he just too far away and can't come up to us.

Please let me know if you have anyone who you know can fit the bill...it would be much appreciated!

If you haven't found anyone yet, you might look into the Khan Academy to help tide you over until you locate someone. I know some kids with dyscalculia really like it because they can play the videos over and over and do problem after problem without worrying about a teacher getting bored or frustrated with them "not getting it." Eldest daughter also likes the fact that she can work out the problems and make mistakes and get corrected -- without ever hearing another human being say, "You're wrong."

I don't know if my eldest daughter would be officially diagnosed with dyscalculia (we homeschool), but she has some of the classic symptoms and definitely struggles with math. It's still not her favorite subject, but since we started her going with Khan Academy it's no longer so agonizing for her and she doesn't have to brace herself before tackling math every day.

I know some tutors use the Khan Academy as a supplement between meetings with the student. This can work especially well when you're dealing with "holes" in someone's math background; the tutor can pin down what's missing so you know what videos to watch or subjects to focus on at Khan. So if you still haven't found anyone, and if the tutor is open to it, maybe you could set up once-a-month meetings or whatever with the tutor in Westchester and use Khan on a more regular basis.

my son tutors but he lives in Westborough MA which I am sure is too far for the trip.
