  • Mosquito bites - how long from bite to itch?

Trying to figure out if I'm just now having a reaction to bites from Sunday/Monday, or if this is something else...

When I get bites the itching is about instant.

Way too long. Its something else. I'm one of those "sweet" thin skinned redheads, and even without perfume I get bit. Even hives will come out the same day, within a few hours.

Hope you feel better soon. If it is mainly itch, try something like Benedryl spray or if you can take them, Benedryl pills.

I was afraid it might be too long. Ugh.
Not benadryl-worthy yet, but I am not happy. Now of course I'm itching all over even where I don't have bites, or bumps, or whatever they are.

I have to take my dog to the vet tomorrow, I'll ask him to take a look

Oh that is so like me! most vets are better doctors than doctors imho. Sorry about the bites.

Agreed. Not to mention that if they aren't mosquito bites...

Perhaps a few May Flies hanging on in the Berkshires ? One bit me around 8 days ago and the horseflies are hitting now---fortunately they don't like cigar smoke.

Those nasty green flies down by the beach or any large body of salt water are the worst. You feel them as they bite immediately!

I really didn't notice getting bitten up there, which is why I was wondering. I HATE horseflies, I might even consider picking up cigars if I had to contend with them.

I am more concerned with how many of these bites I seem to have than the itching, though I may feel differently when I try to fall asleep.... a cigar would not help, though the coughing might distract me from the itching...

I got so flustered at trying to hold the poor girl still for xray that I forgot to ask about me. Nothing nasty on her xray, though, so that's good.

My bites are not better and look nasty. Hopefully this is the worst of it and they'll improve by tomorrow.

What is wrong with your little pooch? I hope that both of you will be OK real soon.
