Pylos: 128 East 7th street, bt 1st and Avenue A. This is a great neighborhood and excellent food, reasonable prices. Make a reservation. If you have time, stop in a few doors down either before or after at Desnuda for oysters steamed under glass in front of you. Very interesting place with no kitchen but a lot of sushi preparations and innovative use of torches for cooking.

Other greek option, upscale: Milos - 125 W. 55th, right near Manhattan Club if you need to stick close to theatre

    Indian:

    Upscale: Dawat, Darbar

Good neighbhorhood indian: any number of places in Curry Hill - Curry in a Hurry is one, there are other more sit-down. For Curry Hill, take Lexington Ave subway to 28th street, walk East to Lexington, head in either direction. There is, or at least used to be, a good place on the north corner at 25th or 26th and Lex.
Other option, very inexpensive: Go to 6th street and 2nd avenue, walk east and pick a place b/t 2nd and 1st, there are a lot to choose from. Fun neighborhood around there.
I second Milo's. The food is fantastic and the service was impeccable.

Try JoeG 's, Italian..56th between Broadway and 8th...Walk out of the MC, turn left. cross Broadway. Its in the middle of the block , downstairs...one of our favorites..suggested by the MC staff.

We'll be there 9/3 and 9/4 to watch the Tug Boat races..then return again over Thanksgiving for the parade..

You might want to see Million Dollar Quartet...loved it..

We were in New York 2 months ago. I strongly recommend Uncle Jack's Steakhouse on 56th Street between 6th and 5th avenues. Our concierge recommended it and he was right on. Big Frank also recommends it. We have eaten in a lot of steakhouses and this is one the best if not the best. I had a bone-in Rib Eye and my wife had the bone-in Fillet Mignon. The bone-in Fillet Mignon is a specialty of theirs and it was awesome.

We went to 2 shows, Sister Act at the Broadway Theater and Cirque de Soleil at the Radio City Music Hall. They both were very good but we preferred Sister Act, definitely better than the movie.

You can often get discounts on tickets on-line. I paid just $75 for the best $250 seats at Cirque de Soleil and 40% discount prime tickets for Sister Act. Just do a search for the "name of show" discount tickets.

                  Memphis on Broadway

I will add Memphis to the highly recommended list for theatre. I haven't seen it and am generally not much for musicals, but a good friend loved it (and has gone more than once) and I met a couple from out of town recently who raved about it.

We just returned from the Manhattan Club on Saturday. We were lucky to fly out before the airport closed.

We saw 5 shows last week: Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Follies, How to Succeed in Business, Book of Mormon, and Catch Me if You Can. All were wonderful and I would recommend any of these.

We also liked a Thai restaurant called Pongsri on W. 48th between Broadway and 8th Ave. Virgil's Real Barbecue is good also. It is on W. 44th just off Broadway too. They are opening a restaurant at the Atlantis in the Bahamas this fall.

Just got here today. Took the red eye from Honolulu. Only took about 8.5 hours. Took a cab to the Manhattan Club and ate at Carnegie Deli for lunch. I was in New York last month where I ate at Katz' deli. Had pastrami on rye at both places. I have to say that I prefer Carnegie Deli to Katz for pastrami.

Yeah, I am freezing my tail off. But, I didn't come here for weather. I came here for tennis, food and theatre.

We decided to just do 50% off TKTS. Jersey Boys matinee and then whatever is left for evening.

Our US Open tickets are for Thurs, Fri and Sat. May get some rain on Thurs. But, Fri and Sat should be good.

Just gonna get some Pizza for dinner tonight.

Tennis was canceled for today/tonight so glad your tix are for later in the week. Hopefully the weather will clear up soon. The good news about bad weather is you have much better theatre options

Matches finally started again today. Went to TKTS and got Jersey Boys for today's matinee. Will probably try to see Memphis tonight to get a double feature.

Had Pizza for dinner last night. Had breakfast at the Starlight diner. Draw was singing waitresses. However, the breakfast sucked and the singing was just slightly better than Karaoke. Won't be going back there any time soon.
