Just thought I'd let you know that I powered through the scarf (used it to practice the stitch that was really hard for me) and though it's a mess, it's done! I've since made a yummy soft tubular cowl/shawl and finished a hat last night. Let's not talk about the fact that I sat home on a Friday night searching for knitting patterns and watching knitting tutorials on youtube

I even knit through a conference I had to attend last week

My people are all getting hats for the holidays

How did I miss this? I'm a knitter, though my latest project, another sweater for my granddaughter, has sat idle for a couple of months with one sleeve needed to complete

That can be dangerous, dawdling on a knitting project for a grandchild. Or any child, for that matter.

                  HaHa!

                  And yay, another knitter

Maybe I'll ask Frank for a knitting forum -- that way the knitters can post pics of their progress/work... though if any of you are on ravelry.com you can easily do that there. If you're not, check it out - I've been getting patterns/ideas there

I've been offline since Friday. Thanks for this, though. It's a great way to get people in the store to spend big buckos on yarn. I'm so hooked I had to stop on our way to Provincetown to pick up a stash for the weekend, but then it was too warm to knit

40% off online knitting course "Overcome Your Lace Knit Fears"

This is exactly what I'm up to and I already bought some fantastic pashmina yarn that's too fine for the hat I thought I'd make with it.
10 session course, two knit lace shawls, $29.99 (reg $49.99).
I love the patterns of the lace - I just hope she d/n have an annoying voice like some on the youtube videos...

The shawls in the course are Clarus and Skywalker - pictured on the model on the left, I like!
                        Learn to Knit Shawls

Anyone want to do the course and "knit-along" with me?

Those are beautiful! Don't plan on doing anything that complicated until I have lots fewer kids around, though. How is it going?

Well I started this a few days ago and was speeding along, too fast. I can live with most of the mistakes I made until yesterday's slipped stitch debacle. I have emailed the course teacher for help but I may be in for a complete frogging (see, I'm using knitterspeak already)

I will say that I love the yarn I used (pashmina) and generally really enjoy doing the lace stitches so will try it again or maybe something a little simpler and less wide - when the rows got up to 230 stitches I sort of glazed over and there's still another double increase if I can fix my big oops.
