I think Steffi was digging at the gate that I use to secure her when we are away. She broke a toenail and needed to go to the doctor for surgery.

Good thing is that she now can receive satellite signals.

Her nail got cut way back, her toe is swollen and she is so drugged up she hasn't hardly moved in the past hour and a half. On the drive home, I had to shield her eyes from the sun, she couldn't move and kind of stared into space.

Tomorrow she should be fine, but tonight, she is a basket case.

You can see in the picture that her tongue is sticking out. Wow, those are powerful drugs.

I told my wife the same thing, here we are taking pictures of her in this condition that will embarrass her when she sobers up.

What a difference a day makes.

She is walking around nearly as she did before the accident. She is alert, eating well and hasn't even bothered her bandaged paw. That may change once she has the bandages pulled off, she may lick the damaged area, but if she does, the cone goes back on.

We are away tonight. The award for my winning wine at last years Ren Fest was 4 tickets to a dinner theater. We are going tonight with another couple, then will use the second part of the award, the DW and I get to stay at a hotel for the night. Poor Steffi will be locked up in the pet hotel. I hope she does well there otherwise we are going to feel like very bad parents.

BAD DOG! I would watch her if I were anywhere close. I have a very soft spot when it comes to 4 legged creatures. Just picked up 3 kits this morning. They are all hiding UNDER the kitty bed in the cage at the moment. I will start working with them tomorrow. Let them settle a bit first.

I need to break the third adoptee of her habit of swimming in the water dispenser. She is very pretty even if just your typical black cat.
