Trip West will start on 22 August. ...I still could use pointers on what there is to see, ...the in-between things, those that make for in interesting trip....
Probably out of our way, but someone has mentioned a couple museums in Oklahoma, one in Bartlesville and Will Rogers Museum in Claremore.
Also there's Precious Moments Chapel in Carthage, Mo
I live in Salt Lake and I would pass on Great Salt Lake. I would spend more time in the mountains. Go spend a day in Park City and then drive up to Snowbird. Of course you can always go south and see Canyonlands, Moab, Zions or Bryce. Take a detour off of I15 when going south to the Grand Canyon and you can see some great places.
WOW THIS COULD GO ON FOREVER.

Robert, we took a similar (but reverse) trip over some of your route just last summer. After you leave Rapid City, Mt Rushmore, going west, I would recommend you stop by to vist Devils Tower in WY. It's not far off of the east-west interstate and is well worth seeing if you haven't already. Also, there is a fantastic western cowboy museum in Cody, WY on your way to Yellowstone. It's right on the main drag through town so you shouldn't miss it.
I envy you your trip. I love to do long road trips like that. Enjoy the heck out of yourselves...
Robert, when you are in Custer, S.D. you must add to your 'to do' list the sculpture that is being carved out of a mountain of Crazy Horse, a revered Indian chief on his horse. Rushmore would fit into just a small segment of this sculpture.
It is a magnificant work of art in progress with an interesting history to it. It was begun in the early 1900's by one man who began to dynamite the mountain on his own after being commissioned by the Indian tribes to do this for them. I thought it was more impressive than Rushmore - much more interesting.
Robert, what evening are you going to be in Seattle? I would like to organize a meeting time and place for anyone in the area who would like to get together.
If you are going from Yellowstone to Glacier I highly recommend exiting from the north entrance of Yellowstone (Mammoth Hot Springs) and go north on Highway 89 to Livingston to I-90 Westbound. Chico Hot Springs is a lovely place to stay on 89. It is about 2 hours from Mammoth and is an old hotel set in a little hollow up against the magnificant mountains. There is a hot springs pool that is great to soak in. Accommodations are nice and reasonable.

I appreciate the get-to-gather offer. Our trip is flexible except for 25 August and 11-14 September.
There may be time to meet some TS Folk in the Skaget Resort area on 12th or 13th... Not certain what the ole buddies will be up to.
We may move along faster and arrive Seattle area on 9th or 10th… who knows. We won’t know that until we finish the Gorge.
Robert, half the fun is planning and looking forward to a trip. I hope your trip will be as wonderful as our trip was to Alaska with the TUG cruise. It was so much fun meeting so many TUGgers.
It will be so nice for you having a little get-together in Seattle too with some of the TS4Mrs. I hope you guys can arrange it.
Robert, our tour should end on the night of the 14th (dinner with our tour group) and we should have the 15th & 16th free...although one day we plan on renting a car and driving to Stanwood to see relatives. IF you are in Seattle..or near there on those dates, it might be possible to meet for a meal somewhere, if DH is willing.
