Ever hear of the saying "My house, my rules"? Of course they are in total control - it's their site. Just becasue a site allows or doesn't allow certain things doesn't mean they are not in total control. The word 'allow' itself implies at least some measure of control.
It seems TA is set up to allow (!) the designated (control!) DEs wide lattitude (control!) over their little part of the TA world. To trash the whole site for a run in on one forum seems an excessive reaction to the whole site.
Just like those that say they HATED a resort because a front desk person was not very friendly. Not like that person, instance, etc., sure, but HATE the whole resort for it? Wow.
But as JWC says, you are entitled to state your opinion and we are entitled to state ours. I guess this falls under YMMV.

TA is not perfect, but it is a nice site.
I agree that people who paste bad reviews because they had a "run-in" with the person at the front desk and for similarly dumb reasons are annoying.
My pet peeve is they don't know the difference between Sanibel Beach Club I and Sanibel Beach Club II. I tried to educate them two years ago, but I still cannot find Sanibel Beach Club II listed on the site. The reviews go under Sanibel Beach Club I.
Sure, they are two small resorts on one small island so it isn't a matter of life or death, but I wonder what else they get wrong?

If people did not contribute both money and there time, this site and many others would not be there for people to use. So do not say it is free like I said someone has to pay for it in one way or another.

I think you are confusing two different things Bing. The site itself is free by defination as there is no cost. What you are asking is totally different in that you are asking them to allow free spech. The access is free, just as you are free to either read the reviews or choose not to. Being free to access and being free to speak your mind are different.

I know nothing in life is free but one is not "free" to post if one is banned. If TA controls all that is printed on their site that they want people to see it would seem to me they would charge for a membership. If a site is "open and free" it should be for everyone or they risk being in violation free speech and or censorship ! TA is walking on thin ice and leaving themself wide open to finding themselves in court.

BigFrank has addressed this so I will not. Obviously though you missed the point. That is , the TA website have extended you the courtesy (I use the term loosely) of utilizing their website. What courtesies and rules they allow you to use after that are up to them.
Whether it is fair or not is irrelevant. Fair should NEVER be an expectation in life. If it was, we would all be making millions of dollars, riding around in private yachts. Looking for fairness will get you knowhere as it often does not exist. Win-Win is great, but there is always compromise.

Big Frank cleared it up.
When I clicked " I agree " on TA's site I agreed to :
Being discriminated against
Being abused
Being belittled
Being shunned
Being closed to reasonable debate
Giving up all rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution
In other words, being their little puppet on a string !
As gandalf said, nothing's fair but it is human nature to be fair and kind.
When I opened my store some 30 years ago I opened the door to everyone.
I guess I should have had a sign up sheet by the door for people to sign to allow me to treat them however I saw fit to include all the above. I could have treated them like dirt.
I treated all with respect. I ran a good business. TA needs to learn about that ! If they ran a store, they would be out of business.

I think the word " free " should be changed to OPEN instead.
As stated before, free is opposed to a cost.
So, TA needs to say their site is open to all ( however except me )
P.S. TA has put into effect some of my suggestions. I don't see why they wouldn't want more of my input. It is their loss !
