  • Treatment prior to mildew

It has been a week since Irene. Now, with the house open and no a/c, do you know of ways for treating fabric to prevent the mustties from happening?

Are there bags which the air can be sucked out that can go over beds or recliners, etc?

Trying to find an air conditioned rental house we can occupy & put everything into. The holiday weekend allows for nobody manning the phones.

We want to avoid placing all in climate controlled self storage than having to move it all a second time.

      Cleaning after the flood

If you have a very stuborn smell try getting crystals from Pet Shop that they use for pet odors. Worked great in getting odors out of freezer after huricanne. I keep a small open container in storage places I do not open often.

Found a ground floor large apartment. Move in Friday. Hope the rain stops for the move.

With the rebuild, we plan to strip the ceilings and walls, revamp wiring, weather proof and insulate. Hopefully trussed cathedral ceilings won't put us over budget. Will get upgraded ductwork while we're at it.
