  • On the 10th year of 9/11/01

I refuse to call this an anniversary.

I still am reduced to tears, at the oddest times. I worked in WTC2 ( the south tower) on the 70th floor for many years. I lost many. Many who I know lost more. My thoughts and prayers to all who gave all, lost all. To those who have guarded us in the past, who guard us now and those who will guard us in the future.

Amen to that. We have been watching some National Geographic programs about 9/11. Tearfully watching. Although we hate seeing it, we need to remember the horror that so many lived and died through...

I have been reading the tributes today. David Letterman's first show back was especially moving, and the Budweiser Clydesdale tribute. Of course, the first baseball games played in NY after the attacks were heartwrenching also.
Those of us in NY were more personally affected by most, but the whole nation suffered to the core on that horrible day.

Ditto.......I've got the TV on, and they're reading out the names of those who were killed on 9/11. So, so sad!

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Living in Massachuetts, and flying often out of BOS, we were more personally affected too. Had security been stronger at Logan this may never have happened. Too many warning signs were ignored, and too many lives lost.

            May they rest in peace.

I am especially heartbroken seeing the kids talking to their fathers.

I've already heard the first two names I wait for but need to wait for the Zs for the last one.

My DD and I have been watching specials all week. She was just 2 when it happened so it's like she's seeing it for the first time. I lived in NYC for 3+ years but never worked in the WTC compex. Had of course been there on several occassions, but not regularly. Still so very shocking.

What is really hitting me is listening to the familes say (in essance) that every time they see those images, which are everywhere, they are watching their loved ones die. Again. Wow. I never thought of it like that. Really gives one pause, doesn't it.

I can no longer deal with it so I'm not watching any of the programs. I belong to a retired Law Enforcement group here in SC and about 90% of the members were NYPD. We are having a picnic today not because it's 9/11 but it was one of 2 dates they could get the venue. It's going to be tough.

I've only been to NYC on business - but thinking about the loss makes me ache like a native.

My thoughts are with you and especially the families who lost their loved ones. it must be very hard for these families to see and hear this all again and for the people too who saw it happen in reality.

We had the TV on early that morning and it was like looking at a horror movie but it was reality.

This is to heart wretching for me to watch again. It seems like it was just yesterday, not 10 years ago. I was in the hospital recovering from an emergency gall bladder operation. I was right across from the nurses station so everybody was gathering in my room. I watched it so much that everytime they showed the airplanes hitting the tower that I would recoil and shake in reaction.

The night b4 I was complaining to my Dr. that I had a trip coming up in 3 weeks and now look. When he came into my room the morning of 9/11 I told him I didn't have any problems, forget what I said last night. We just held hands and watched the 5v in shock.

God bless all the families who lost friends and family.

                              Children of 9/11

My friends children were interviewed by Barbara Walters right after 9/11 in their bereavement group with several follow up interviews.
She interviewed them again last month. They are Jessica, Stephanie, Maria and Jamie.
