  • Lemonade Alley

Here is a video clip of local news in Hawaii for a local entrepreneurial contest called Lemonade Alley. My son and his team made it to the finals of the high school division. The team was at my house this weekend perfecting their lemonade concoctions. I was the taste tester. It's amazing what you can do with lemonade. Finals are this weekend at the Iolani baseball field right across the canal from Waikiki.

Last night, I had dinner with Wally Amos. What a character he is.

My son's team is Lemonade Grenade.

I don't have a picture that I can easily post since the photo server is having issues. Here is a recent photo from a math meet. Jason, my middle son, is on the far left. Mitchell, my oldest, is 6th from the left.

The Iolani math team has a 19 year winning streak. They dominate math in the state of Hawaii.

It was a fantastic event on Saturday. 32 teams did their best to out do the competition. My son's team, the Lemon Grenades won the 10-12 grade division. They did it with the power of a great product. They made a strawberry lemonade that was out of this world.

Whenever competing in such a contest, guess which age group will dominate? Not the high schoolers because they have to do everything themselves. Try the 3-6 graders. They had the best booths, the best costumes and the most supporters. The parents did it all.

        The winners were:

Sugarless Recipe Winner $100 Prize: Ponolicious (3-6 Grade Division)
K-2 $1000 Prize Winner: Little Sisters, Big Ideas
3-6 $1000 Prize Winner: Sour Things + Sweet Thoughts
7-9 $1000 Prize Winner: Crazy Ade
10-12 $1000 Prize Winner: Lemon Grenades

Lemonade Alley finals at ?Iolani | ?Iolani School

There is no way any high school student can beat this cuteness.

            That's fantastic!!
What a great idea for a competition - Go Grenades!
I love the pic of the little girls, cuteness is one thing the parents can't do for them

At our high school, the lemonade would probably be spiked.
