  • Thumbs Up for Groupon....

I have a Groupon for a massage at a salon located near my office. I have been there before and had a nice experience so purchased a second Groupon when it was offered again.

When a called to book a week ago, they told me they no longer offer the service during the week, only on Saturday - which just does not work for me a I am not in the area then.

I contacted Groupon thru the site this afternoon - tonight I received an email and now have the amount I paid on my account - they will automatically use it with my next purchase until it is gone.

Thumbs up to Groupon for such good customer service.

Also, if your Groupon DOES expire, it is still worth what u paid for it.
So if you paid $10 to get a $20 Groupon at your local cupcake shop - it is still worth $10 at the shop even when the date has passed.

    Did not know that!
Mary (Happymum), you once gave me a Groupon for wine tasting in San Francisco which I did not have a chance to enjoy. I think it's almost two years ago...wonder if they might still give you the credit back?

They will not give u the credit back BUT, you can still use the Groupon for what u paid for it.

So if Mum paid $25 for the $50 Goupon, it is still worth $25 at the business.
      Now go get some wine!

I am happy to report that I was able to use the Groupon for full value last summer.
The wine was good and the cheese excellent!

Also, fwiw, Groupon may credit you for some unused/expired Groupons. Some businesses will honor them regardless of expiration, others will not. I had one expired by a day and the restaurant wouldn't take it, so Groupon refunded (via credit to my account).

That got refunded after the second no-show. What a disappointment!

I have always found Groupon to be very good at refunding. Although, recently there has been some mumbling that financially they are not doing very well. There was an establishment I had difficulty scheduling with, and they gave me a $75 credit for a $20 purchase. Very pleasantly surprised.

I bought the same groupon as Pat, and I e-mailed them yesterday telling them the massage wasn't available. Today I got an e-mail back asking me which location is no longer offering massages. Nothing about giving me a refund yet....

I'll be shocked if you don't get a refund.

They are still giving them but only one day a week and that day is not convenient for you.

                          That is what I said.

And as we know, some locations of that chain never have massages.

I told them the same thing - that now they only do massages on Saturdays and they are booked up and the next location that does them is not convenient for me.
                            Let's see what they say...

That should do it...maybe they are asking more as a quality control issue/question??
