Beware of calls from 1-209-220-1908 XFMT ODP

I just received a call from them a few minutes ago. They were claiming that a virus had been downloaded to my hard drive from their server. The man had quite an accent. In any event, I thought it was phony and hung up before he got very far.

I then researched the number on the web and sure enough, it is a fraud. So be aware, if you get a call from this number. Just hang up.

For us, if it's a number we don't recognize, we typically don't answer. Granted curiosity gets the better of my every now and again (I always regret this) and I end up haning up but, most of the time, we just don't answer. They can either leave a message or, they eventually stop calling. The problem is those that stop calling are eventually replaced by another scammer.

Yep, that do-not-call list sure has worked well at stopping the phone calls. Now I don't have to worry about telemarketers, just scammers looking to steal my money and give me nothing in return. Caller ID has done more for us any list we've put ourselves on.

Funny u should mention this. I got the same one a few days ago. I do not know why I keep my land line. All I get is annoying unsolicited calls.
