  • some income tax questions

I am wondering if anyone from Minnesota knows a link to do state taxes and efile for free, also Massachusettes, although I think i have that link.

I am pretty sure for medical deductions, the expenses must be incurred and paid in 2011 to deduct, not just incurred. Is this correct?

Yes, unless you do the entire return on the accrual basis.

      thanks Tony

I have Turbo Tax deluxe, it includes one state return, am I correct that even if you have two returns from t he same state, you have to pay for the second one in that state? Last year it was 40 or 50 for a second state, and i found free file locations.

          Online filing free products

This was at Minnesota's revenue website and lists vendors who have free efile with links.

          and for Mass.

          https://wfb.dor.state.ma.us/income/Default.aspx

You should be able to file at that link for MA.

          Hope this helps.

          Lisa from PA

Not sure about Turbo Tax prices, since I am a CPA and use different software, but paying for the second state sounds about right. I live in PA but do a MA tax return each year for a friend who moved to Boston. MA is one of the states that is pushing efile so it should go through smoothly.
