One of the very vivid memories I have of Alaska was on a boat tour and a mother moose was on land and her baby had fell into the water and was trying desparatly to get back on land.....but couldn't because the bank was too steep. The guide went on to tell us that the baby would probably not be able to get up and would eventually drown and die. We were about 20 feet from this poor thing. I had tears coming down my face the rest of the trip. Glad this story had a better ending.

I loved that story about the rescued deer.
Nature can be very cruel.... we don't normally have to see it.
I would have been very upset about the young moose, and for
a long time.
