  • Bragging on my wife

I just had to brag on my wife and post about a couple of events she is participating in over the next few months.

The DW is a teacher at a private school in Minneapolis. The school is part of the larger Sabis system. She is very active in continuing her education to provide her students with advanced placement education. She teaches 8,9,11 and 12th grades in advance placement classes for social studies and art history to name a couple of her classes.

This weekend, she one of only 17 chosen to be at West Point for a weekend intense session on the U.S. Constitution called “Liberty and the Constitution”. The discussion is on the NY ratification of the constitution.

In April, she travels to Chicago for “Great US Military Battles and their impact on the US”. If she could, she would get her PhD in Military History, likely with the emphasis in WW2.

In June, she is a reader for AP Human Geography. Even though I don't fully understand this, it is prestigious and is a valued addition to her resume.

I had forwarded the Civil Literacy Test to her that was posted on one of the forum sites. She had a score of 100%. She knows her stuff.

She is very smart and her student’s grades show how well she teaches.

And she's lucky to have you to brag about her!!! She should be proud of all her accomplishments, (and the accomplishments of others that she has enabled). You have every right to brag!! Congrats to you both!!

          Awesome! All of it!

If my son could "dream" up a teacher...her background indicates that it would be exactly who she is. How lucky her students are to have her educating them.

(He also scored very well on the Civil Literacy Test. It wasn't 100 percent but I knew he would put me to shame..and he did!)

I got a text from her yesterday. She had some time between the end of the sessions and the flight back home, so her and one of the other 17 went to the home of 'Eleanor and Franklin' as she put it. I guess she studies and knows so much that she is on first name basis with the former president. She now has a picture of her sitting next to President Roosevelt.

When I picked her up last night about midnight, she was still wound up with all the information she picked up and how valuable the trip was. As for me, I was just wanted to get home and into bed.

This morning, I woke groggy, she woke ready to tell her students about her trip. Look out kids, there may be additional information on the next test.

              Very impressive!

and if I were home instead of where I am, I would have loved to meet up with her. West Point is about 35mins from my place of residence. Maybe next time.
