    I dropped my ipad 2 on cement and shattered the glass in several places. I called Apple to see what could be done about it. The service rep explained exactly what to do in preparation for sending it back, including how to backup the info, and exact details for mailing it by UPS.

    I received an email from Apple when UPS sent it 3 days ago. Today I received an email stating that it was received and a new one is on its way, sent out the same day the broken one was received. It will also be personalized with my name, as the other one was.

    I am impressed with both the speed and the efficiency of Apple service. It sure beats the service I get from most businesses today. I just wanted everyone to know that Apple is wonderful to work with.

    Kay, did you have an extended warranty of some kind? How old was your iPad?

      No extended warrenty. It was purchased in June 2011 and the total cost of new ipad is under $300, including postage and personalization. I would have to look up exact amt but I thought it was a bargain.

        I've always been happy with Apple's service for our IPhones. DH thinks I should get a Mac computer, but I can't justify the cost, but do like the way they take care of their customers.
