I used a Black & Decker coffee maker for years until I got a Bunn (their GRX-W model). I also use a french press.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I went to check Mr Coffee late yesterday afternoon and the water didn't go through....immediate purchase time.

Due to the recommendations here I am now the proud owner of the Cuisanart Brew Central 12 Cup Drip DCC-1200. Turned out Macy's had the best price on it with discounts. The seal on the deal was the cone shaped filter. I really loved my Braun coffee makers of the past until they started dying far too often.

A special thanks to Glitter for pointing out that the thermal ones do not have a heating plate nor can one see how much coffee is left. That last one is pretty obvious but had not occurred to me as an issue until then.

As I sit and enjoy my first pot I realize that the cone shape will allow me to adjust down by a scoop on how much coffee I use over the basket shape.

        Thanks everybody!

Yay! Glad you found something that makes you happy.

Been following this thread but had nothing to say, because we tea drinkers don't have these problems.
