  • Garcinia Cambogia

Anyone into this? I'd like to hear about your experience... pro and con.
As I'm fat, I'm being told to about this stuff. I'll of course ck with doc prior to experimenting.

Garcinia Cambogia became popular when Dr. Oz called it "the Holy Grail of Weight Loss" on his popular TV talk show. It's now the biggest diet craze in the country, and for good reason.
In a recent study published in the Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism journal, scientists used Garcinia Cambogia with 60% HCA to study its weight loss effects. What they found was that it causes significant weight loss, lowers food intake and body weight gain as well as tackling factors such as cholesterol, low-density lipoproteins, triglycerides and serum leptin levels.

I've been using Garcinia for a couple months now and it's actually working much better then some of the other "fads" Dr. Oz has spewed out. One thing I always look for in a product is the side effects it can cause. When I first started researching, I stumbled across this informative site that lists the benefits as well as side effects: http://garciniacambogiabenefits.com/

    Hope this helps!

I lost 50lbs the old fashioned way. I kept a journal of my daily calories (and kept them to 1500/day), and exercised more (walks - including stairs). Bought a fitbit (http://www.fitbit.com) to track the exercise. Wasn't easy, wasn't fast - but I now eat differently and feel MUCH better. Keep in mind that 'Dr.' Oz's day job is a television show, and he needs to keep his market share up. I now maintain by walking on the treadmill at a gym for an hour every morning. Let's me have a bad snack or an Indian buffet here and there

      Good luck!

I am down over 70 lbs from my high. I was at the 6o to 65 lb mark and was at a stand still. I started GC and some other stuff and lost about 6 lbs more and still going. I have only gone through one bottle of GC.

Just curious, what happens when you lose the weight? Do you have to keep taking this in order to keep it off?

I'm another who lost weight the "old fashioned" way (60 pounds) and I've kept it off for 11 years. No supplements, no "diet" tricks, no Dr. Oz miracle drugs.

I believe there are many, many ways to lose weight, it's basically eat less, move more, but keeping the weight off is trickier.

Dr Oz was recently on TV saying he was coming out against and also taking legal action against the people who use his name to endorse products.
Many things that are advertise as being endorsed by Dr Oz are NOT - so be careful and do your homework before you take anything based on such an endorsement.

Good for those in the group who have successfully lost weight and kept it off. It is always a struggle.

Pat, I think a lot of these endorsements that people talk about are the things he mentions on his show. I don't watch it so I can't verify which products he talks about and which he doesn't. But, from what I've heard he does endorse a lot of products, and theories, on his show, and if one were to buy everything he mentions, you could go broke.

I went down to the city to see BigFrank and everybody said he was there, but I couldn't see him.
