  • this scared me

I have been having real bad leg cramps, and severe toe cramping, so severe that one toe turned black and blue.
the dr gave me something for restless leg syndrome, and it helped, but not totally. I had had my calcium levels checked June 28, and they were fine at that time

today, my forefinger shot up ninety degrees with no warning and I could not get the finger back down. it happened twice.

I see my endo thursday for my yearly appt., I had my thyroid removed, I am hoping she can direct me to the right place.

Has anyone ever heard of this happening????

I have had severe leg cramps where my big toe would stand straight up but not my fingers so I'm no help but hoping your Dr. will have the answer.

Once in awhile my thumb gets stuck in a tucked position and it has to be pulled up. Hurts like crazy. They call it "trigger finger". If it happens too often, they perform a surgery to release it.
I don't know about the toes.
        Do you have arthritis?

I had severe cramping, having to Jump out of bed and stamp my feet and stretch my legs 3-4 times a night.
This was recommended by a massage therapist and worked immediately. Can be purchased OTC

yes, I do jump up and stomp on my feet, and I pressed my hand (actually the fingers) down hard to release the finger.

Cal Mag is what my doctor recommended for cramps. Be sure you are drinking enough water as well. It took a great deal of restraint to not post a humorous attempt on this topic.

Try the highest dose the recommend and as tony suggested, increase wAter intake.

when I start to get a lot of foot/toe cramps, it's time for me to see the chiropractor. If you lie down with your legs straight out, do your feet turn at the same rate or is one turned more? If they aren't 'even' then chiro may be a good choice.

It does help with the weird tingling that starts to make it to my hands before my hands get too bad.

I too get severe leg, groin and hand cramps. My doctor recommended drinking tonic with quinine. It actually helps.
Cramping used to be nightly.... I shouldn't say it, but it has been at least a month since I've had a cramp. Give it a try. It can't hurt

I usually drink a glass in the morning and at night (the lime flavored tonic is quite good)

                              Another great one-liner from Tony!!
If he didn't exercise restraint, he would constantly keep me in stitches.
