Snow and ice last night very heavy to shovel and more snow coming tonight. Got a little over freezing today, but the wet spots will be freezing tonight with a low of 17 predicted.

4 to 8 inches forecast here tomorrow. but the local website I find to be accurate for my areas says near miss. Look out NYC and Long Island.

Finally… we have been tracking a storm threat for Wednesday night into Thursday. Basically, after the “warm up” across the Hudson Valley on Wednesday… arctic air will filter back into our area by late Wednesday. At the same time, a wave of low pressure (with significant moisture) will develop and move northeast along a stalled frontal boundary.
Originally, some of the data had the Hudson Valley in the bullseye for a significant snow event. However, as is often the case in a setup like this… the arctic air should push the bulk of the moisture just south of our area… leaving the Hudson Valley with some areas of light snow possible… instead of a heavy snow. We’ll continue to track this… but it appears to be yet another “near miss”.Lawren

We had a bit of rain yesterday, but it's now in the twenties and supposed to hit single digits tonight. The rain did take the snow cover down a bit, but of course now it's become sheets of ice where you least expect them. *sigh*
At least they kicked the prediction up so we're not going into negative numbers tonight. *knock wood*
