A friend of mine swears by this website for the hudson valley area. Updated map at 1PM today has me in the 10 to 18" range.

(updated snow map @ 1pm Sat)
A very fluid situation is underway across the Hudson Valley… as we have a powerful nor’easter slamming the east coast of the US. The Hudson Valley was always on the fringe of this event, and we highlighted a major concern regarding our area. The incredibly sharp cut off was always over the Hudson Valley. Where it ultimately sets up… will mean the difference between 1 to 3 inches… and near a foot of snow…

I have been stuck in the house for 2 days. We got ice on top of the snow but I'm lucky we didn't lose power. I made a huge pot of brunswick stew and it was beyond delicious. That was beyond delicious plus we had grilled cheese sandwiches. Who thought something so simple could be that good. shaggy

It's about over and still not a flake here. It's beginning to look like a winter without snow here, but I suspect mother nature has a nasty surprise up her sleeve for us before the end of this winter.

                  Tony,

You got very lucky. You are well above the snow line for this storm. We got pummeled!

I really did not think it would be this bad!

Yes I knew it was going to snow in NY. Most of the forecasts yesterday portrayed the majority to the south. So I fluffed it off and figured all would be OK by Monday morning.

We got snowmaggedoned. Is that a word no, but you get the drift. Yes pun intended!

They reported 26.8 inches of snow in Central Parl. Record was in 2006 at 26.9. That's a LOT of snow. All you old dudes be careful with shoveling. Get someone young with a snow blower to do it.

It seems ironic that you are sitting in 2 feet of snow dreaming of being on a beach and I'm sitting on a beach dreaming of being in 2 feet of snow.

I can deal with one snowstorm. These are actually a lot of fun if we only get the one biggie. Predicted mid-30s - 40 this week. Play in the snow after digging out.

It was the 5 months of cold and snow last year that made me wish to be elsewhere.

My wife had gotten up set when I bought a 30 inch snowblower to replace our 24 inch. Mine is huge but it was not big enough to handle what we got in snow. I think a 45 inch snow blower was needed.

I have taken 5 Vicodin's s since this morning. i have felt great all day.
