I guess every town needs one animal softie. Yesterday my best buddy <the one I ride with all the time, K> calls and says:
K: "Lawren my very best friend in the world...."
L: I hate to ask but with a greeting like that; What do you want?
K: Do you think you could take in a bottle baby? I have no room for it.
L: <sigh>
K: It was found on the yellow line on Rte 59 right outside Avon and it needs a place to stay JUST until it will eat real food.
L: How old is it?
K: 4 weeks so maybe you'll have him for a week or so....he is really cute.
L: Well you know cute isn't a factor K but I have so MUCH going on around here. I'm a bit short on sleep. Bottle babies can be so demanding.
K: A week TOPS. PROMISE!
L: OK I'll take it. I'll get him from you at the barn.
Needless to say this itty-bitty isn't 4 weeks old but 3. Doesn't take a bottle well yet and completely FILTHY. More like 2 weeks and I do tend to get attached to them.
<sigh>
Cute as a button though. With those BLUE EYES only the tiniest, youngest of kittens have. Even one of the ears hasn't gone completely upright yet.
He is beginning to get the idea on the bottle and today we got a bath in the kitchen sink. I'm trying to attach a pic of him but not having much luck. Wrapped in a dish towel after his bath and supper. So tiny.
