  • Coffee Drinkers ?

We always drink Peet’s here at home.
What brand do you prefer to drink at home?

A recent trip out west introduced me to Peets and to Jeremiahs Pick coffee and I loved them both. They are my favorites. I only drink decaf but I like a strong coffee. My favorite with each of these is the decaf french roast. I was happy to discover I can get both Peets and Jeremiah's Pick in my local area.

I pretty much exclusively drink Starbucks Sulawesi or Gold Coast Blend. Periodicially I try others, but I'm always disappointed.

Right now I'm going through a 12-oz bag of Pinon from Trader Joe's. It had good reviews, but I've been quite disappointed. Has a very strong and bitter flavor that dominates when I brew at the strength I prefer my coffee.

I haven't had much opportunity to explore Peet's, but I believe I would probably enjoy their stronger roasts.

I will say that I cannot stand Gevalia. I've tried almost every variety Gevalia has, and I've been disappointed in every one of them. That bitter taste I mentioned with the Pinon is also present in almost all Gevalia coffees. I guess that means that if you like Gevalia and you've got a Trader Joe's nearby, you might be able to save some money by buying the Pinon at TJs. But if you don't like Gevalia, stay away from Pinon.

At work I drink Peet's. We also have Starbuck's available, but I prefer Peet's.

At home I drink Folger's when I'm in a hurry, and if I'm not I grind beans. Right now I'm enjoying Greenwall's 100% Peaberry Kona.

I used to love the cinnamon flavored Gevalia cofee, but I don't know if they still sell it. The smell of it brewing was wonderful. Now I'm a chai latte tea drinker.

Before we went to Hawaii, I was buying Guatemalan HueHueTenango from Delaware Coffee Roasters on Ebay. Now I'm hooked on Kona I get it at Fairway, but am going to go back to HueHue soon...

Prefer Maxwell House instant ~~ Good to the last drop!!

Dunkie's is pretty good too ~~~America runs on Dunkin!

Don't even own a coffee maker, so it's instant at home.

Good to the last drop is fine for coffee. Not so for parachutes.

I agree. I can't even drink instant (or the stuff from a machine) any more.

                            1. Alto Grande when I have it (www.altogrande.com). They drink it in the Vatican. So much for the money put into the collection box.

                            2. Peet's !!!!! (Consistently good flavor/aroma, an all round blend).

                            3. Imus' Coffee (mild & nutty - kind of like BigFrank )

                            4. Most Sumatras and Kenyans.

                              The BUX Stops Here

My 16 year old son works for Starbucks and gets a free pound a week, can anyone guess what I drink at home? One thing I found out long ago is I don't like the taste of most coffee in coffee houses. I find if I make the same coffee at home I enjoy it. This is how I was with Starbucks before my son started there. I didn't like the coffee they served but brewing in myself was great. I drink a lot of coffee and love Sumatra. I use 2 tablespoons or measuring spoons for 4-5 cups instead of 2 for 6 ounces.
I have found my family and friends enjoy it more this way also.
