  • What Kind of Candy did you give out for this Halloween?

My wife did not buy my favorites altho I do like Kit Kat's and the Butter finger Crisp. I do not care for the regular Butter fingers or Snickers. I miss the Baby Ruth's and Twizzlers as a few others.

Now I have all the candy in a large can mixed in are Beads that I had from a few trips to New Orleans. Believe it or not The Beads are a hit. I give all the kids a choice to take 1 or the other and the Beads are winning by about 7 out of 10. They prefer the Beads over the candy.
My wife had said that they would never take the beads over candy but they are. The little girls look so cute putting them on. The mothers all said that it was a good idea and something different. I offered some of the moms Beads as well but they turned me down.

I bought two bags of Reese's Peanut butter cups today.
If they don't go to trick or treaters then we will have them for dinner.

You're not going to believe this, but you know what I have a real urge for......a tootsie roll. I may have to try and get one from a trick or treater....

We have an assortment. I can't remember what all but I know there are some Snickers in there. We also give out the glow in the dark necklaces. I think we should quit with the candy and just do the glow sticks.

I just bartered with a 5 year old for a Tootsie Roll. I told her that she could have seconds, of anything that she wanted if she gave me a Tootsie Roll. Sure enough, she was very happy to accommodate me, since she said that Reese's were her favorite.

She definitely got the better deal, since I gave her a few pieces for one Tootsie Roll, but it was worth it. Next, I need a Almond Joy.......

I gave Airheads. I hate them. Kids love them. Some ask if they can have 2. I say sure because I will never eat them. I'll take them to school for the kids. If I ever had any kind of chocolate or tootsie rolls I would be eating them like crazy. My kids are too old to trick-or-treat so there will be no Snickers for me unless I go to CVS and buy some.

Today I had one trick-or-treat-for Unicef. This is the first time in many years I have seen this. I was glad to see that the child was collecting for charity. He is a little boy, 1st grade. My daughter asked him what she was supposed to give and he said "some pennies would be nice"!

Since we haven't had any trick or treaters in the 6 years we've lived here...I have nothing to give out. We live in an area with few houses and the kids all go into town to get bags full of stuff, and I don't blame them.

We live in a gated community, so people feel that sending their kids out to T&T is very safe. Therefore, we get about 40 -60 kids each halloween.

My DW gives out only the full size bars and hides them from me and our DS till today so we don't eat them all ahead of time.

We are giving our Snickers bars and the fun just started here--only 6:10 p.m. and just got a little bit dark.

We will have about 150 kids when all is said and done. That is about six or seven bags of candy. I wonder if any of the kids will let me trade some of my Snickers for their Heath bars.

No trick or treaters in the last hour

I bought Reeses and Kit Kats. I don't like Kit Kats so that was the point of those. I had about 15 kids all at once to start with and I was worried that I wouldn't have enough candy. But after that I had maybe 10 more kids. It's just 8:15 and the door bell hasn't run in 1 hour. The dogs are calming down and I can read my TS forums.

I live in a nice suburban area so I expected more kids. Oh well. Now my husband can eat the Kit Kats and the peanut butter cups.
