Hi Everyone! Sorry, my husband forgot to post or email anyone on TSFM, even though I had suggested it to him. Doh!
Vital statistics:
Christian Philip was born on Tuesday 31st Oct 2006
@ 10.58am Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time
Length 54.5cm
Weight 3920gms (about 8 pounds & 10 ounces)
HC 37cm
Everything worked out perfectly. With the kids getting chicken pox when he was due, some of you would know that we were hoping the baby would be late for at least another week just to be safe and so the kids could at least come visit in hospital. We'd also worked out and prayed that Tuesday would be the perfect day because that's the day that all four kids are at school and preschool, with our youngest Emily going from 9am - 12:30pm.
So Phil and I had joked and prayed that Tuesday morning should be when the baby was born. We could drop the kids off at school and preschool, go to hospital, have the baby and then Phil could pick up Emily from preschool again at 12:30pm. Well, lo and behold, that's exactly how it worked out! I still can't believe it.
Contractions started around 8am in the morning just as I was getting the kids lunches and heading out the door. It got to about 5mins apart by the time we dropped them off. We drove straight to hospital and got there just after 9am and Christian was born less than 2 hrs later! We were finished by 11am and Phil was going to go pick Emily up but a friend offered to drop her off at the hospital.
I just got home from hospital this afternoon after 2 nts there. That's the standard practice here. Boy, it's good to be home.
