  • And update on me

    Hello everyone!

I've received a couple of e-mails from some old friends asking me to come in and post an update on the last year of my life, so here I am. Read no further if you bore easily!

Well, for those of you who don't already know, my husband of 10 years passed away in August. It was sudden and unexpected - he went peacefully and quickly of a massive heart attack at work one day. It's been a long three months for the kids and I, but we are all ok. If any good can come out of this, hopefully it's this bit of advice:

The coroner told us that he had a heart condition that would have been spotted and corected if he'd been the type of guy to have a regular physcial exam - which he wasn't. He was only 51. So if you're the same type of guy, or you're married to the same type of guy - please go get a physical. End of lecture.

And now on to something completely different.

After being laid off from Shawnee last October, I took about 6 months off and enjoyed collecting unemployment, playing stay-at-home mom, and deciding what I wanted to be when I grew up.

Then in May I was offered a wonderful job with T-Mobile as an editor (Frank, are you at all surprised???). I LOVE my job. I LOVE my new paycheck I'm still in customer service, as my main responsibility is editing tech support information so that it can be repurposed for customer use. But I am OUT of the resort industry for good. I loved it and all, but after 20 years, it was time for me to do something different. God has really blessed my family by providing this job in preparation for me being the sole provider for my children. I'm truly grateful for that.

Sadly, it's a contract position and my contact expires on 12/31. But we were just asked to apply for permanent positions, which I did on Friday and should hear about this week. Wish me luck - I really don't want to leave!

Don't ask me any questions about Shawnee / Fairfield / Wyndham / whatever their name is this week. For once I have no idea. And I don't want to have an idea! LOL

I don't know if my e-mail address is available through my profile here or not, but if it is please feel free to get in touch. I do miss chatting with you all very much!

So enough about me, how are you?

**Some editor I turned out to be - I made a typo in my subject!

      Therea -

Thanks for checking back in with us. I hope things work out well for you at T*Mobile (and I'm glad my son isn't counting your beans!).

      “You shouldn't wear that body.”

Therea even if you do not work for Shawnee we still love you here just as much and want you to keep posting. We have had a lot of fun with you in the past so why not keep coming around. It will get your mind off things and if you stick around long enough you might become an owner of a timeshare for free. Besides even now that we have spell checkers here. We need a gramer checker.

              Theresa,

I do not know you. I must have joined during your break from this forum. Just the same, I am terribly sorry to hear about the lose of your husband. I also wanted to wish you lots of luck, on landing that permanent position.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

After talking to you off and on about timeshare for so long, I'm at a loss. I don't know any T-Mobile!

I am so sorry about your loss and am very grateful that you posted the warning. My husband is one of those who think nothing will hit him and hasn't had a physical in a few of years. I am going to make an appointment for him tomorrow.

Good luck with your job. I hope you will let us know the outcome...
