  • Dirk Dirksen a good friend passed away.

One of my good friends and a icon of the Punk Rock scene of San Francisco has passed away. We have worked together for the last 10 years on different events. From organizing the 30th Anniversary of the summer of love, to putting on events for the UN.
Its going to be hard going over to the office and Dirk not being there.
This news has hit our home pretty hard. I really don't know what to say right now.
    He will be missed.

    Ken,

I am so sorry to hear of your losing such a good friend. He sounds like a great guy, and an important part of SF's music scene.

      Ken,

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I know how difficult times like this can be. You, and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

This is very sad both for the loss of an icon and the loss of your friend.

The last time I wrote, was to share about my friend Dirk Dirksen’s passing. I am at a loss right now because I was thinking about all the great icons of the rock and roll movement who have passed recently. I just wanted to share with you and remind you of these amazing men. Bill Graham, I was fortunate to be able to work with this great man. Chet Helms, was a very close friend of mine, and now Dirk Dirksen. I am deeply saddened by the loss of these great men. Thank you all for all your kind words. We all know what an impact these men have had on our culture. I have been blessed to have known these men on a personal level, and they will surely be missed.

              Ken,

I didn't know much about your friend, so I googled him. I thought this website was very good about information about him.

He must have been quite a guy.

Just know that you will never lose any of your memories of him and they will remain with you as will Dirk.

Ken, you have lost a real good friend and an icon too but Mike said it so well in his post. You will never forget him and he will always be in your heart. It will get easier over time but the older you get, the more loved ones will pass away around you. Yes, very sad.
