  • Black Friday Warriors - What were your Best Deals?

    I was up all night last night working on a project so I was up and out the door by 5:30AM to hit one store by opening time. I went to Staples as I really needed a new hardrive for a server project and I picked up the following:

    Maxtor 200GB 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive -> $19.95 (Reg $120)
    Maxtor OneTouch III Mini 60GB Portable Hard Drive -> $39.98 (Reg $199.99)
    I/OMagic 4GB Micro drive -> $19.99 (Reg $89.99)
    9" Laminator -> Free (Reg $39.99)

    I bought some other stuff as well but by the time I got to my next stop the early morning deals were all gone....

    How did you make out?

      I am not one to stand in line and run for a special, so I wandered out around 11 AM to the post office and then stopped at a local store and found they still had a doorbuster digital camera I liked for $ 90 with a bonus battery charger and rechargeable batteries along with a $ 20 rebate.
      Staples has something I want on sale so I may head out of town tomorrow to pick that up if they still have any.

        Ken....Congrats, you did great. You're a better person than I am. I avoid Black Friday, at all costs. Hopefully, I will still be able to catch some good sales before Christmas.

        If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

        BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

          I normally don't go out either but when I got home my wife and youngest were up so we went back out and shopped most of the day. We got most of our shopping done and we got other good deals and some were great prices (50% off on quite a few things).

          I am not sure I want to do it every year but it was an experience standing in line to get in a store at 5:45 AM

            You mean people actually shop for Christmas before December 24th?

              Oh come on Mike. Don't tell me you're not a shopaholic. I've seen you on Woot.

                Fantastic Deal

                No one can beat the deal I got. My wife left the house at4:30am and got home at 7:30 this evening. I've had all day, by myself, to eat left overs and watch football. Let's see WalMart beat that deal.

                    I'm still basking in the flat screen moniter I got during the woot off. No Friday shopping this year.

                    When my DS and DD were young, my mom and I would do the sales. Donuts and coffee at Fred Meyer at 6 AM then getting the deals. Good times. Now it's my young adult kids' turn to be broke and they carry on the tradition.

                    Ive done most of my gift buying online with the free shipping offers. Can't be beat!

                    Hope

                      I bought a Sony PS3 on Wednesday for $500 from EB Games and did not have to wait in line....just got lucky...they had one 20GB left over that nobody bought.

                      I was going to sell it on eBay for $1000, but my 13yo nephew conned me (begged for hours) to sell it to him for my cost (+$10 profit).
