  • A small sweet story about outdoor Xmas decorations

I'm lucky. I have an amazing Japanese Maple tree on my front lawn.

Last year my DH wasn't feeling well on the only nice weather weekend. We never got around to decorating outside.

I had 2 people I'd never met in my life pull into my driveway, ring my bell and ask why we hadn't decorated our tree. I found myself apologizing to complete strangers!

They are truly simple lighted globes. About 30 of them that we string up. From a company in Arizona.

Anyway I feel if 2 people rang my bell to complain that 20 people missed our lights.

So I'll never NOT decorate outside again.

I love those trees........Isn't it nice to know that the time, and energy that you spend decorating, is appreciated by your neighbors.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Wow. It must look beautiful with your lights. I think it shows some true compassion on the part of the people who stopped by... sounds like they may have been concerned that something was wrong, rather than just complaining. Even if they feigned complaining, they had to know that it would be possible there'd be a sad explanation.

It's nice when the holidays bring out the best in people.
