  • Henderson, NV - Snow in the Desert

    Hi Fern

The weather channel just showed the Christmas Snow in
the Desert in Henderson Nevada just outside Las Vegas

You beat me to it! Yup. We have snow. Lots of it this time. Its not snowing any more, but my front and back yards, all my trees and shrubs, my roof, my "Billy Bear" statue, its all covered with a couple of inches of snow. There is no sun yet, so its not going away any time soon. Right now it is 32 degrees. I'm suppose to be somewhere at 10 AM, but I don't think so...the car is in the driveway, covered with snow...

Now y'all see why I say you won't want to swim in Vegas at Christmas unless you are a freaking seal?

Fern, grab your camera and take some pics!! This is the craziest weather!! We are at 70 degrees. I'm wearing sandals and Monkey gets to lay out in the sun. Not bad for Dec. shaggy

I finally got an album of snow pictures together. You can view it here. For those of you who've been to my place, I especially like how the patio looks, and the froggies...

Great pictures Fern! How strange it looks to see snow in the Vegas area. When our son lived out there, many years ago, he called and said it snowed and everyone was amazed! And he said the the dessert flowers bloomed great in the spring because of the snow. Soooooo pretty. Lovely house and neighborhood too.

              Fern,

Thanks for sharing, what great pics. You live in very lovely neighborhood, pretty homes.

In New York, it has been extremely warm, for this time of year. The weather around the country is so erratic these days, crazy.

We loved your pics, Fern! I hope your plants don't all die, but they do look beautiful now. Thanks for those. Jean

Fern I can't believe it I knew that it can snow there but not that much. We might get lost coming to your house with the froggies all covered with snow! That was the easiest way to find it. You have more snow there than we do here in Calgary Hope your roses are okay.

Well, this will be fun to remember!! I think it'd be neat if it snowed while I'm there in Feb. We could go sledding!! Great pics. shaggy

I would not have believed it unless I saw it with my own Eyes. Fern you were not kidding about the temps in Jan. I guess I have to bring my coat in 3 weeks. BTW we stil have not had any snow in NY yet. I guess I have to go to Vegas for that.
