I know what you mean....I also worry about traveling on New Year's Eve. I would have thought that you would be safe walking, tho.

We don't do the amateur night anymore. Going out for an early dinner with my cousin; then to our house to play cards & games. At 58, enjoyable is better than the "FUN" night out.

My daughter and her husband come every New Year's Eve to watch the fireworks in Old Sacramento. They have them at 9 pm and again at midnight.
I usually make it to the first one. The finale is a display of fireworks off the Tower Bridge and it looks like a waterfall. We usually have dinner somewhere first. We may have others join us this year.

The two of us were going to spend New Year's eve at our marina but we decided against it and will cancel our reservations. We went somewhere tonight with our friends but it was so noisy that we couldn't hear each other talk. Dinner was very good but music was way too loud.

We will celebrate New Year's eve safe at home with our old cat and watch TV with a glass of Champagne and the fireplace on.

For many years we did a party at home with friends. Since the turn of the century we don't much want to celebrate the years flying by anymore. We are escaping the snow & headed for Palm Desert. Mom, brother & his SO are joining us. We will probably barbeque some steaks, wash them down with some bubbly, and hit the sack long before the ball drops. If the rain holds off there will be golf to play, books to read, hot tub soakin' & maybe some casino visitin' to do on NY. Then off to Mesquite for another week of the same. Ahhhh...retirement!

                  New Year's Eve

My husband, 15 yr old son and I will be at Marriot's Fairway Villas at Seaview (Atlantic City) for the weekend. After the last month of hectic activity, I'm planning on a late afternoon movie (maybe at the IMAX in Tropicana) and cooking a simple meal of lobster and filet mignon in our unit.

If anyone is else is staying in AC this weekend and wants to GTG, let me know.

I've been invited to a party being hosted by an indie record label, with 3 bands on tap to play. I just hope the rainy downpours we're having abate 'cause the venue is small, and I don't want to have to stand/wait outside on sidewalk. My makeup might streak!

                        Turns out, we're going dancing.

We got a last minute invitation to a dinner/dance celebration, at a local club. Some of our best friends will be there, so we decided to go. Now, I need to find something to wear, and get out my dancing shoes.

                          Staying Home and...

...having a couple of Bourbon and waters.

Rita and I just got back from Panama City Beach, FL and we have to leave tomorrow for the Capitol as session begins on Jan 2.

Rita is just now unpacking her suitcase and will repack for Frankfort later in the day. I always unpack immediately after arriving home, so I am always ready to pack up again, which normally takes me ten or fifteen minutes as I keep a carry-on type bag packed for travel and all I have to do is throw in suits, ties, shirts, underwear, etc. and I am ready again .

                            Happy New Year everyone

We are in Carlsbad at the Grand Pacific Palisades starting our second week. We just moved to a bigger room and the parents will be visiting this week. New Years eve (day) will be Legoland at the special event 'Kids New Years Party' which ends at 6 p.m. with a fireworks show. Several relatives that live in the area will be joining us and watching the fireworks from our balcony overlooking Legoland. We will walk back accross the street and start dinner and partying until we wear ourselves out...who knows how long that will last.

If it were up to me I would be going to the Arizona Cardinals vs. San Diego Chargers game today but I would end up coming home and passing out and that would be no fun for the kids and family.

New Years day will be recovery, pool, hot tub, massage, the Rose Parade on TV, and then the Rose Bowl - Go USC!!!!!!

We are going to a party at our golf club and taking friends with us. It is the 50th anniversary of the club so they are having a 50's and 60's band. This is the first New Years Eve party for us since 2000. Have gone to Meadow Lake with family or friends a couple of times and also to Fairmont Hot Spings resort with our kids one year. Last year we stayed home and I didn't make it until midnight

                              Happy New Year to everyone

First we have to recoup from last nights Christmas party that went to 4:30 am. Then we have to do it again. Guys I don't think I can do it all over again but I am sure going to try.
