We are so very happy for her. She won about $12,000 cash, a trip to Mexico and a new Jaguar worth $36,000. She will be taking the trip to Mexico with her boyfriend but will sell the Jag (anyone want one?) to pay taxes, etc. We are hoping she'll end up with 20-25 thousand which is great for her cause she just has a part-time waitressing job.

Good for her! Great story, I'm glad the money will come in handy for her.

My DH's cousin won $64,000 on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and MIL made DH and DBIL try out--what a pain, they did well on the written testing and then had to do interviews and neither one made it for the show. I think DBIL went back twice (they encourage you to keep coming back) but never made it past the interview. Just getting on these shows is pretty challenging!

I'm a WOF junkie and I was looking forward to seeing your niece tonight. I was in Boston for the weekend and had a 1:30 flight back to Philly and then a 5:30 flight to Allentown. Should have been home by 7:00 at the latest. We boarded a little after 1:30, finally took off around 3:30 and then had to circle the airport for an hour. Got in to Philly 3 hours late then the flight to ABE was delayed 2 1/2 hours. That's a long way of saying that I missed the show. I'm glad she did so well.

We love to watch the show, but Rick is so good I don't get much of a chance to guess the puzzles. He should be on that show for sure.

Are you the aunt she mentions in her blog? Anyway did see the show and she was wonderful; the type of contestant you want to see win. (The guy on the other end wasn't too bad either, but Katy was the best!)

Yes, I am "Aunt Sandy" who couldn't be more proud of her ! Seems that the guy on the other end was kind of a jerk; after Katy won the trip to Mexico, during one of the breaks, he told her "seriously" that she took his trip that he had promised his fiancee to win for his honeymoon. I think he won over $7,000 which should be enough for a honeymoon !!
