OK, OK, I'm as dumb as a rock but I can't ever seem to find how to start a new post. I can only figure out to piggyback on someone elses, not that there's anything wrong with that. Seems like the "new post" icon would allow you to do that...what am I missing??? I'm sure it's something probably beating me in the face...thus my eyes are closed and can't see it.

Do you mean a new thread? If so, you have to first go to the specific forum you want it to be in. You can't do it from the home page. For instance, click on Frank's Hot Tub, at the top you should see a new thread icon. Click that, and off you go.
