We are going to be taking a cruise to the Bahamas on the Sovereign of the Seas -Royal Caribbean Line in Jan. 2008. We will be going to CocoCay and Nassau. Would like to take a shore excursion , but need advise from those who have been before. Any information to help us plan would be appreciated. We don't snorkel. My mom and some of her friends will be with us (age 70 plus).

We went to the Bahamas with Royal Carribean but didn't do any shore excursions. Skipping the long story of how we missed sailaway and flew into Nassau, we did have a most enjoyable limo (taxi) ride thru Nassau and got to see a lot of the island. It's really pretty - definitely explore it!
I would suggest you check with cruisecritic and join the roll call to see what everybody else is doing. Also look at the port of call section. You'll find out about things you wouldn't run across with just RC promo packs.
