As the Queen of "I didn't KNOW I wanted to go there" Land, this is an interesting thread....

2 people are going to Arkansas?????
    1 to South Dakota?

    Why? What's there?
I am just so 'coastal' I need to expand....and speaking of water, my next trip is to England and Ireland (we don't have a swimming icon, do we?)

      Hot Springs:

Beautiful lakes and mountains; lots of outdoor activities; horse racing (hopefully in the summer); nice friendly folks; very reasonable place to spend money; hot springs; spas; fishing; boating; golf; good eats.

And one of the few resorts I can drive to in 6 to 8 hours.

I too spend too much bi-coastal time (except for ski resorts), so those destinations also got my interest. And Prague, too

              Cameron House, Scotland, in June.

Exchange rate not looking good, but at least the housing is paid for.

I'm going back home to Maine for a family wedding in early June, then to Pigeon Forge (Sunrise Ridge) for a week...never been there. In July, my daughter and I will take a short cruise, later in the month we will spend a week in Punta Gorda, FL (Fisherman's Village) to be near Peter's mom.

Berkshires, leaving a week from Thurs. Have never spent time out east. Being a tiny tot when my parents lived in Joisey doesn't count.

I want to see the Norman Rockwell Museum and hike with the dog while DH is a history buff.

                      2 weeks in Sedona

Leaving on Saturday for an overnight in Palm Desert on owner bonus time at Desert Breezes. Then an easy drive to Sedona on Sunday. Staying first week at Hyatt and second week at Sunterra Sedona Summit. The overnight again at DBR and home to NorCal to plant our summer garden.

We love Sedona. It has that mystical hippy dippy aura that we California 60s flower children generation find inspiring. Maybe it's just because we are getting older & we like to just sit & sip our wine and gaze at the gorgeous scenery. Although, we like to do the easier hikes & pretend we are getting exercise, too. And nobody ever hogs the lounges around the pool Whatever it is, Sedona keeps pulling us back. We ended up buying 3 weeks at Sedona Springs so we can bring our whole family for Thanksgiving. But that's another trip...

I can't wait to hear about your trip, and your opinion of the resort. I know you will enjoy hiking the area with your dog. Be sure to check out some of the lakes nearby.

We're leaving May 9 for Paris, actually spending the week in Brittany, then on to Munich and finally Greece. Will be gone 3 weeks...can't wait! Thank you frequent flyer tickets ($260 for 2 r/t tix).

Sigh. Another destination on my "must go" list. Sooner than some others. And your description just hits me in all the right places... thanks
