Well, I got the call from the puppy rescue this morning - we got your dog today, but she's a girl, not a boy! And she's black and white, not brown and black. Ok, I say, I'd like to come meet her.
We went to the foster parents' house and fell in love - she's absolutely adorable. DD took a couple of pictures; I'll see if I can get them posted. She's tiny - about 8.5 lbs and she is almost 8 months. She is up to date on her shots and microchipped. I know she has to be spayed, so I asked when this could be done so I can take her home. The wife told me that the husband has vouched for me (I work with him) and that I can take her right now!
I am now totally unprepared for this puppy. No food, no bowls, no crate, no nothing. They say if I promise to have her spayed, they will lend me a crate and give me some food and let me take her home. DD and DS say yes, yes. DH says oh I don't know about this.
So here she is, a real mush, lying on a quilt and being so darn cute. She was born on Columbus Day, October 12th, so we have named her Isabella.
She has been in cage in a pet store since she was born, and she knows absolutely nothing! She had never been outside, looked panicked when the wind blew her hair, doesn't know how to drink from a bowl, doesn't know how to give kisses. The first time she went on the grass, she was picking her paws up like she was walking in glue. She has a lot to learn, but she sure is lovable!
