  • Queen Elizabeth

We are watching Queen Elizabeth traveling in the open carriage to be there for the commemoration of Jamestown's 400th anniversary.

Do you believe that she will step down now to let her son, Prince Charles, take over or will she wait until his oldest son is old enough to reign? This is not meant to be a political post but if it is, please move it for me.

The Queen sure looks great for her age and seems to enjoy the ride too.

My feeling is that she'll hang on as long as she can and only step down when she feels she can no longer perform her duties.

Can't imagine Prince Charles being head of the Anglican Church... (what an example to all)

She probably will. We just heard her speak and she is all there with her mind too. She is a lucky and blessed lady.

Yes, I agree - even though her son's recent behavior has been 'okay' - his track record isn't that great.
Of course this is just the 'public' perception - nothing to do with reality!

I heard today that her personal assistants, went to many of the places that she was scheduled to visit, to make sure that her clothing didn't clash with the color of the rooms, rugs, drapery, etc......Cool!

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

The Queen knows that she is beloved and respected by many whereas Chrles is not. So it would be a mistake for her to step down before she is senile or on her deathbed.

Charles will get his turn before his son, William, in due course. Then it will go to Will.

Too bad it can't skip a generation.

Liz is there for her lifetime.

She seems in good shape, if Charles has his turn it likely will be very brief.

I don't believe she will ever step down (abdicate is the official term). The role and responsibility is for life. If she ever became to frail to continue actively then many of her duties would fall to Charles, but he would not become King until after her death.
By the way, anybody watching Queen Elizabeth walking around was seeing a ghost as she reigned from 1558-1603 The current Queen is Queen Elizabeth II. The numbers really do matter

She must've got a great trade with that Buckingham Palace lock off unit. I'll bet it traded as Red, deluxe. She can probably get Marriott Marbella in the summer or the Crane in the winter.
Oooh, to have that kind of trading power.

My sister is the PA to the Chairman of British Telecom and he recently hosted the Queen in the City for lunch.Apart from the obvious security , the attention to detail was such that the luch was planned in great detail 9 months in advance and sis. had about 15 advance meetings with the "ladies in waiting ". Everthing was looked into in great deail . type of flowers, menu of course, seating plan , even the privacy of the loo....So you can imagne the prep for an international visit
Great lady the Queen ( and sis too!)
