  • What Is Your Favorite Vacation Spot?

I asked my DH this question this morning, and I was totally surprised by his answer. His favorite vacation spot is Disney World, Orlando. It has everything he is looking for, in a vacation....entertainment, golf, etc.

    True, but where's the beach?

My favorite vacation spot, would need to have a beach, and better shopping and restaurants. Although, I do love Disney, too.

We love Lake Tahoe, own 2 1/2 weeks there. The best mountains and water in the summer and snow in the winter.

The Poconos. I know, I'm crazy. But there's this place we used to go to every year (and still visit sometimes) where you rent a house for a week or a month or the summer, and you can walk to a lake, a community center with pools, playgrounds, a little library. Very relaxing. Unfortunately, not a timeshare and I can barely keep up with the house I have, so I don't want to buy a weekend place.

Before I went to Hawaii I would have to agree with Lawren. But for now it is Hawaii...

Somewhere new and different. We enjoy traveling to see 'new' things, cultures and people from different lands. But if I had to go to the same place...I would take a place in the mountains near a lake.

Disneyworld for sure! Kauai is still a great second-choice spot, but only at The Shearwater. Maui is third, but we have not been to the Caribbean, ever! Airfare is high! We would have to do a last minute trip. We don't even have our passports yet.

Something that surprised me was back a few months ago, when Angela posted the St. Kitts Marriott, airfare to St. Kitts at the last minute was only $550 from Denver. It was like two days before. I thought airfare got more expensive the closer the dates were. Not so! I guess the planes were not filled up. There was only one stop in San Juan. That would have been great!

For now it is Disney World with a stop at Myrtle Beach on the way home. However, we haven't really explored past Disney with these timeshares. We always have such a great time there that we are hesitant to "waste" a vacation week somewhere else. We did venture to Fort Lauderdale once and we were so disappointed that we are hesitant to try somewhere new again. To give Fort Lauderdale its due, the place was nice, but we went there after a week in a 2 bedroom at Disney's Old Key West, so honestly, the place didn't stand a chance.

I love threads like these because they help give us ideas for "someday".

Right now I would have to say Italy and Venice in particular since it so fresh in my mind. I agree with Frank as this was our best vacation ever so far.
Since Italy wasn't a timeshare trip for that I would pick the Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay in Maz that is a really nice place.
