  • 99 Cent Store--What Wouldn't You Buy There?

I was at the local 99 Cents Only store today, and it got me thinking. They have such a variety of items. What are some of the things you wouldn't buy there?

I don't think I'd buy a pregnancy testing kit there...

Hmm, I can't say timeshare because that's what many are worth. How about a timeshare closing service for my $.99 timeshare?

I agree with this one, for sure. I also wouldn't buy any medicines.

A pregnancy test for 99 cents is a steal. If the test is positive, you know the kit works (no false positives w/the urine tests). If it's negative, you can always spring for the $12 in another week or two

Now, condoms, otoh... not worth the risk

I would buy the 99-cent pregnancy kit. The doctor's office always wants to repeat them anyhow.

We've bought chips and gum and even some really fancy high-end chocolates at the 99-cent store. Once we bought some name-brand bag of mini-chocolate bars--Hershey's, I think--and they were stale, like they hadn't been kept cool. But the expiration date was ages in the future.

I am only slightly embarrassed to say I called the 800 number and said, "I bought these chocolates in the 99-cent store and they're stale!" They said, "They should still be fresh!" And Hershey's sent me a coupon for a free bag. Which I used at the grocery store.

Rubbers don't buy Rubbers there. You might end up with a prize 9 months down the road.

I was just at Dollar Tree just yesterday to buy 100 plates for a catering event Im doing. The store, in a not so upscale part of town, had a rent-A- cop walking around. I asked the checker why they needed him and she said, "theiving..especially EPT tests! I replied, Maybe its not such a good idea to get pregnant if you don't even have a dollar for a lousy test kit.

I was just in AC where there were two, 99 cent stores. I couldn't believe the amount of things that you could actually buy for 99 cents......Granted, the quality of some things weren't too good, but still, it was impressive.

My purchase....Large bobby pins. They even had them in the gold tone, for blonde hair. How could you go wrong?

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

                            Fern,
please don't buy a pregnancy test kit at the .99 store. If you need one I will buy it and send it to you express mail

I do buy wrapping paper and gift bags there and sometimes pick up cleaning supplies or alum foil or saran wrap there. I aleays find something I NEED.

I once bought a tin of butter cookies. They were full of bugs.
