  • What's the one timeshare that you would love to own, but haven't purchased yet?

I'd like to purchase one or two, or 10 more timeshares.

I've been looking around, for some good deals and I was wondering if there was one timeshare, in-particular, that you would really like to own, but haven't yet purchased?

I doubt I'll be buying any more. Already have plenty. But if someone was giving them away for pennies...I'd buy DVC at Wilderness lodge or OKW and Marriott in Hawaii. Then I wouldn't have to worry about trading into Disney and I would have that Marriott priority for any Marriott as well as easier Hawaii vacation planning.

DVC is also on my wishlist, but I doubt that will ever be anything we would buy, because of the price.

Yeah....DVC is a great timeshare. I will probably continue to trade into them, opposed to purchasing, tho. As you say, they are expensive, and they do come up for exchange, even with an AC.

I would like more DVC points because we have a small OKW contract, but now that I see there are ways to trade with II, it doesn't make much sense so I am restraining myself from an add-on! Although DVC is on the expensive side, I love the flexibility of the points system.

It's probably just a matter of time before I buy at Grand Timber Lodge in Breckenridge. We've traded in there three or four times. Great property and my family loves it.

Starwood is trying to secure approval for a project in Vail. I'd be a lock for that.

The discounts on DVC are coming

For those who want DVC just keep watching. In a few years, whenever it is that DVC stops the ROFR as the remaining time left on the RTU is too short to hold it's full value vs the newer RTU contracts, the buy in price will go down significantly. While the resorts will most likely remain well maintained (why wouldn't they - DVC gets to charge the RTU buyers until that last year and gets the units back to do what they want at that point at no cost to DVC) the high annual fees and the looming end date for use will force resale prices down. The closer to the end of RTU the lower they will be of course.

Now I'm not saying that the value will be $.10 on the dollar or less right away but it will be below the current propped up pricing. And as the RTU holders find out the ROFR has ended it will drop faster as more and more try to get out before it is worth zero - a guarantee if they hang on too long.

So be prepared to enjoy a big discount at some point in the future for DVC. It could start tomorrow or it may be another decade but whenever they drop ROFR the free fall in resale DVC points will begin. Thats when the bargain hunters who want DVC will enjoy a bonanza in buy in cost. Of course they still face some of the highest fees in all of timesharing but if they REALLY want DVC thats the going rate - at least they'll be saving the upfront costs. They won't announce it so keep your ear to the ground for the first few times ROFR isn't used for a deep discount sale. Then the fun begins.

              Enjoy.

I'm down to 2 timeshares now, with one of them soon to be gone too, so I've been looking. There are a few I would like to buy, but so far the availabilty and the price have kept me from buying.

Harborside at the Atlantis, Grand Mayan, Gurney's depending on the week. Also maybe a Marriott so I can see what Angela sees.

I think I would own a 2 bedroom Oceanfront Westin Kaanapali and 300 Disney Points.

Westin St John. Champagne dreams and a beer pocket book.

Only in my dreams as there will never be a large enough unit that would be in my price range.

I think I would also like a Gurney's Week. That's one that I would probably never trade.

We'll just have to find a way to trade you into that one. Not easy, but not impossible, either.

This is easy. I'd own Marriott Waiohai and make someone else pay the MF's
