  • I just ran out of rci weeks, Trinidad & Tobago Carnival

We just booked Tobago Sandy Point Beach Club two bedroom for 2-27-09 one week after Carnival. We will be in Trinidad one week for Carnival and then we will be going to Tobago for a week for some scuba diving and some R&R.

I have wanted to go to Trinidad’s Carnival all my life. This is a drem come true.

    GROND ZERO OF ALL CARNIVALS

I am planning to join Trading Places or Dial an Exchange, were I can look first and deposit later.

Now I am trying to decide whether to deposit my week so I can have some thing to play with now, or to wait until July 4, where it will be a stronger week in rci.

    You What!!!!

How could you run out of weeks???

    Who will help me now?

although it sounds like you have a nice vacation planned for yourself. you can't leave me alone like this. although I suppose I could live for a couple of weeks.

I like Trading Places because you get real usuable bonus time.

        Glitter,

I was concern about this resort; it’s the only one in Tobago so I decided to go for it. This makes me feel better about this resort.

        Thank you.

          Lawren,

We can thank Catlovers post for convincing me to go to Carnival in Trinidad & Tobago.

When I read Catlovers post; I could not pass up this opportunity of a life time.

If it was not for Trinidad’s Carnival (GROND ZERO OF ALL CARNIVALS)
Carnival would not be what it is today, nor would mardigras in New Orleans.

It will only be a few weeks and then I will be posting on rci opportunities gain.

Thank You Catlover for convincing and supporting me to follow my wish list.

We experienced true "joie de vivre" - people who were simply celebrating life, love and a good time. And the energy and action is non-stop. While there is alcohol involved, this is not a crazy drunken college Spring break week event; rather the event has deep cultural and historical roots and the parade is incredible. It goes on forever. We got to a spot on the parade route at about 9:30 AM; it had already been going for a while. We left at about 3:30 PM, and it was expected to go on till at least 11 PM at night. Yes, the parade was that long. As tourists, you can sign up (at various price points) to be part of a "tribe" in the parade, or you can just watch. This time around we just watched, but next time, I'm going to be in the parade, and I've already selected the "tribe" I want to sign up with.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that if any of you have ever thought about doing this, just go ...

Btw, RCI has one timeshare resort in T&T but it's in Tobago. The real Carnivale happens in Trinidad, so plan on spending some time there. We spent a few days in Trinidad in a guest house, and then went on to a week of sun, sand and relaxation in Tobago.

I feel your pain, I've been RCI weekless for a couple of months now!! I'm waiting for a few weeks for two July 4th weeks.

Yippee! I'm glad we convinced you! You won't be disappointed. And if you really want a true Carnivale experience, sign up to be part of one of the "crews".

Btw, Sandy Point is a nice little resort in Tobago. It's not a Marriott or a 5-star resort, but it's friendly, comfortable, and clean. We've stayed there twice now, and we'd go back in a heartbeat. If you haven't read it already, we wrote up a review OY for our last trip which was in February this year. And if you have questions, we'll do our best to answer. Aaah, I'm envious already.

For about three months, I have been searching with my BLUE week only. My sightings are dismal! Although I see all the Paniolo Greens weeks in winter of 2009. That's weird! Paniolo Greens is GC.

My searches are not much fun, except for late at night, within two weeks of check-in dates.

We used our last red week as PFD to get some Disney tickets. I didn't even consider that I would have no weeks left to search with.

I've got a good ski week hanging around, I'll try to post some sightings later in the week. The next couple of days I am pretty swamped.
