BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Angela,
Welcome back… Your pictures brought back many memories of Brugge, Belgium… Little Venice, We were there three years ago. Wasn’t that a very beautiful town. Did you go where the nun’s live and see the beautiful garden? I’m glad you had a fun and safe trip. Welcome home. What I once considered boring, I now consider paradise.

Yes, it really was beautiful. I was so surprised, because I didn't really know much about it, before hand.
I'm not sure, but I think we walked through the area you are referring to. There were lots of white houses, and a beautiful garden. Totally storybook looking.
Brugge was the last place that we visited, and I ran out of space, on the disk in my camera. Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures of lots of beautiful sites. I would have taken many more in that town. So many beautiful streets, and buildings. I had taken so many more pictures than I had ever expected to, on this vacation. Everything was beautiful, everywhere we went, and I was just snapping away.

Founded in 1245 by the Countess of Flanders, Margaret of Constantinople, as a haven for the beguines (lay nuns). In the 1930's it became a monastery for Benedictine nuns who still live there today. The pretty row of small white houses around an inner lawn is a real haven of tranquillity. One of the houses has been transformed into an interesting museum illustrating how the beguines used to live
Bruges is one of Europe's best preserved medieval cities and Belgium's most visited attraction. The ornate 13th century architecture hails back to a time when Bruges was a prosperous cloth manufacturing town. (there is the option to ascend the 83 metre high belfry for a view of the city), The ancient Basilica of the Holy Blood is also here, where some drops of Christ's blood are said to be stored. A short walk away is the Begijnhof, a beautiful 13th century convent, which is now home to Benedictine nuns.
